Jean Devroye studeerde af aan de Universiteit van Luik in België en is doctor in de geneeskunde, chirurgie en verloskunde.

Sinds 2000 heeft Dr. Devroye zich uitsluitend gespecialiseerd in haarherstellende behandelingen. Hij ontwikkelde deze passie eind jaren 1990, toen hij besloot naar de Verenigde Staten te gaan om het grootste deel van zijn opleiding te volgen bij Dr. John Cole (Atlanta, VS).

Andere artsen zoals dr. Bradley Wolf (Cincinnati, VS), dr. Ron Shapiro (Minneapolis, VS) en dr. Robert Bernstein (New York, VS), die tot de beste haartransplantatiechirurgen ter wereld behoren, hebben ook hun stempel gedrukt op de opleiding van dr. Devroye, waardoor hij kon voortbouwen op zijn theoretische en praktische ervaring. 

Dr. Devroye is ook gespecialiseerd in wenkbrauw-, baard- en snortransplantaties. Hij gebruikt zowel de FUT- als de FUE-techniek..

Als een echte innovator richt hij zich op het verbeteren van instrumentatie voor haartransplantatie.
De afgelopen zes jaar heeft hij zelfs zijn eigen gemotoriseerde systeem en zijn eigen gereedschap ontwikkeld om folliculaire transplantaten te extraheren.
Hij wordt door vakgenoten erkend voor zijn onderzoek naar de kwaliteit van de groei van grafts. Hij is trouwens verantwoordelijk voor een wereldwijde studie over de groei van doorgesneden haar in het donorgebied voor het FUE Research Committee.

Dr. Devroye is heel internationaal actief. Hij hecht veel belang aan het delen van al zijn kennis. Daarom neemt hij - onder auspiciën van ISHRS - deel aan vele conferenties en workshops, waar hij vaak presentaties geeft of live operaties demonstreert.
Deze conferenties zijn plaatsen voor uitwisseling en ontdekking, gelegenheden om zijn techniek en eigen instrumentatie te delen.
Hij schrijft ook veel publicaties en hoofdstukken in tekstboeken over haarherstel.

Dr. Jean Devroye wijdt zich sinds 2000 volledig aan zijn privépraktijk voor haartransplantatiechirurgie. Momenteel heeft hij een kliniek in Brussel - België, waar hij zich uitsluitend bezighoudt met haartransplantatie (FUE en FUT) met een team van 15 assistenten en medewerkers.

2012-2015 ​Conception and free diffusion of a software «TGQ» (Transection graft quality) which enables a precise graft quality overview and calculates the main ​ ​ ​transection rates automatically. Such a software helps to apprehend the quality of a FUE procedure and follows the evolution of a newcomer in the hair ​ ​ ​transplant surgery field.

2009-2015 ​Conception and demonstration of a FUE foot pedal with oscillating hand piece. Variable speed and oscillation have regularly been showed during the ​ ​ ​past live surgeries.

2014-2015 ​Conception of a complete series of FUE punchs with different degrees of sharpness. These punches are designed to be compatible with the FUE foot ​ ​ ​pedal. This foot pedal is regularly used during the later live surgeries.

2008 ​ Hairmes » first version was presented in Montreal in 2008 during the ISHRS 16th Annual Meeting, consisting in a hair transplant area and density ​ ​ ​ ​measurement software. In association with Mr Alexandre Duvallet (software developer).

INTERNATIONALE MEETINGS & LEZINGEN

In de loop van zijn carrière heeft Dr. Devroye deelgenomen aan meer dan 50 congressen als spreker, moderator en posterauteur, en als programmadirecteur en mededirecteur van grote internationale congressen, waaronder het ISHRS.

De belangrijkste onderwerpen die tijdens de congressen werden besproken, waren onder andere :
