FUE and scars

FUE and scars: is a FUE hair transplant really a technique that leaves no scar?

This technique is performed using micro punches whose diameter varies between 0.8 to 1 mm. It consists in extracting a follicle containing 1 to 3 hairs under the shape of a small tube of skin. It is possible to extract between 1500 and 2000 FUE grafts in only one day. The complete harvesting of the donor area delivers from 3000 to 4000 grafts. The donor area will then be scattered with tiny holes that will very quickly be filled in. So, on the second day, they are closed by a new skin which is red at first and that will progressively turn white. After several months, we then have thousands of 1 mm wide white spots; they are undetectable provided that you keep your hair long enough. It is then not possible to shave completely the donor area. Does the punch diameter influence the appearance of the donor area after a FUE hair transplant? This very interesting question is dealt with in another article.
